I want to build an alternative to Thingiverse, but I need your input.

Over time Thingiverse has grown bigger and bigger, but its design has remained outdated. It can be quite slow at times, and trying to find something can be a mess. There’s some alternatives out there, but nothing that really competes.youmagine.com is quite nice. The search function works well, the design is modern enough, and they have some neat unique features. However it lacks a lot of features when it comes to discovering new models.cults3d.com is a personal favorite. It has loads of high quality models, but the fact that most of them cost money kills a lot of the excitement. Coming across a simple model you’d like to print, only to find it costs $5 is discouraging. It has some neat community features, but personally I don’t care much for those.myminifactory.com is perhaps the most popular website after Thingiverse, but personally I don’t like it at all. The layout is a mess. Simply browsing around is a pain in the ass.I want to build my own alternative, with a focus on something that all these sites are missing; Discovering new models to print. Better search, better filtering, better layout. While keeping all models free.In order to build something good I will need your help by answering a short google survey I’ve put together. https://ift.tt/2LV7xAI. The survey should take less than 5 minutes to complete. All questions are optional, if you want to stop answering half way through, or if you don’t know the answer to a question, feel free to skip ahead. Any responses are highly appreciated.I’ve got the technical and design experience to pull this off, but the biggest challenge will be getting people to use my website. I could build the best website the world has ever seen, but without a large collection of models I cannot even begin to compete with others. I do not yet know how I will achieve this.TL;DR Please answer this survey https://ift.tt/2LV7xAI to help me build an alternative to Thingiverse. https://ift.tt/31gMnkd
