i3 MK3 first batch is shipping, but with a PEI sheet on spring steel instead of powder coating

I just received the following e-mail, order placed first day:You have been patiently waiting for the MK3 and we have good news! We are finally ready to ship the first units this week as we promised. Unfortunately, there needs to be an adjustment with the spring steel sheet. We apologize but we are not ready with the powder-coated spring steel sheet due to problems with their manufacturing in large and constant quality.However, as they’re replaceable we can still ship the MK3 printers now. Based on the forum and social media posts, we have previously decided to also offer a version with smooth surface – the spring steel sheet will be covered with PEI on both sides and it’s exactly the same surface as MK2 is using now. This special plate will be offered as an alternative via our e-shop, it will be a little more expensive than the powder-coated sheet. The spare plates will be added on the e-shop in January 2018 with the pricing as follows and you can replace them anytime.Double-sided textured powder-coated spring steel sheet – 24.99 USD (excl.
