Found this old Mack radiator cap… Copied it for a Maker Coin

http://ift.tt/2iU5NKc I found this old Mack Truck radiator cap from the 1920’s and thought it was a great design for a maker coin. Especially since my last name starts with M. Drawn up in Fusion 360 and printed on my homemade highly modified SmartRap. http://ift.tt/2evRlmJ

Subreddit design jam?

I’ve been designing a small plane (a woodworking plane, not a flying plane) that uses scraper blades, but I only found two other designs on Thingiverse to learn from. It made me think about how interesting it would be to see how everyone here approaches the same design problem. Something akin to a game jam would be nice:Everyone makes the same object (“hand plane”), or an object that uses an easily-accessible vitamin (“single-edged razor blade”), or an object based on a verb (“cut”).The theme can be randomly generated from a list of nouns and verbs, or we can suggest/vote for the theme if there’s enough interest. The time limit is two days. Rapid prototyping indeed!Report back with a photo of the printed object doing whatever it’s supposed to do.Upload your STLs to Thingiverse or your preferred alternative so that others can print them too.No prizes, only glory and the chance to learn from other designers.Monthly? Quarterly? Is anyone interested in this? I’d be happy to set it up. http://ift.tt/2wxWt1V
