Does anyone know if anyone has been working on a slicer functionality that allows a multi-colour printer to print infill when priming (where possible) instead of adding to the priming pillar.

Is this even possible? Would it negatively effect the infill too much? I think Thomas Sanladerer mentioned it off-hand.Obviously this would only have a chance at working when using two feeds of the same material (just different colours), but the idea would be to save some filament by creating infill when priming, instead of adding to the priming pillar, so as to waste less material and increase print speed. http://ift.tt/2m8PRUq

I got to interview Josef Prusa back at CES 2017. It may be a small thing but it was really cool to be able to meet him in person when at times he almost seems like a legend in our community.

Help with designing a device for a quadriplegic

I’m trying to come up with something to help me pick items up off the ground. I’m a quadriplegic and have use of my biceps, but not my fingers, wrists, or triceps. I’d like to have something that can fit onto my forearm/wrist and hand that is long enough to reach the floor and can grasp items when twisted. I know I will need some engineering help to come up with a design that fits and functions, but with everything that is coming out with 3-D printing, I thought it would be easy enough to design and print. Any advice or direction would be great. Thanks! Here is what I currently use to pick things up http://ift.tt/2lyy1ae
