XMachines Lorei Kickstarter has officially failed

Today we the backers, finally got the slightly more truthful update from the Campaign Creator Josue.Update 2/1/201750 CommentsLike 1 like Dear Valued Kickstarter Backer,XMachines LLC does not have sufficient funds to manufacture additional rewards printers at this time. I believe the best course of action based on present circumstances is to pursue a strategic license or sale of the intellectual property. It is the Company’s hope that any license or sale agreement reached will allow XMachines to provide the Kickstarter Backers with their rewards. XMachines will provide updates to the Kickstarter Backers as developments warrant. While this obviously not the position in which we hoped to be, we continue to work hard towards a positive outcome for the Company and its initial backers.Sincerely,Josue CruzFounderSo despite being a Staff Pick, being over 2 years late, and despite backers attempts at communication, it has amounted to basically nothing. In the last 3 months a ‘ransom’ campaign was started to squeeze backers for more money (a $499 fee to receive a kit) on top of the original pledges of around $399 or so. The company sounds like it’s now folding and closing it’s doors.I would avoid buying anything from their Amazon eBay or main webpage outlets. Many of the backers who bought extra’s post-kickstarter campaign have unsuccessfully sought refunds, and the process is ongoing. We’re hoping to setup some kind of legal action as we were lied to from the start. For reference, the (now getting rather heated) comments section for it is here: http://ift.tt/2kZxSMn http://ift.tt/2jB8RuA
